Our portable Transformer Winding Deformation Tester (SFRA) was deployed to perform frequency response analysis on-site. Using high-speed sampling and dual-channel measurement, the tester captured clear amplitude-frequency curves to identify winding bulging and displacement in under 30 minutes.
After analyzing the test data, the maintenance team identified early-stage deformation in two key transformers and performed targeted repairs before failure occurred.
As a result, the utility avoided unplanned outages that would have caused over $200,000 in lost revenue and replacement costs, extending the service life of the transformers by more than 5 years.
