Product Description
The reliable and effective connection between the grounding downconductor of the power equipment and the grounding network is the fundamental guarantee for the safe operation of the equipment. The grounding down-conductor is the connection part between the power equipment and the ground network. During the long-term operation of the power equipment, the connection may be affected by factors such as moisture, and the nodes may be corroded or even broken. The resistance of the connection point of the grounding grid increases, so that it cannot meet the requirements of the electric power regulations, so that the equipment has unsafe hidden dangers in operation, and in severe cases, the equipment will lose ground.

Question 1: What kind of field test services can you provide for power equipment?
Manufacturer: We provide full-set on-site testing, commissioning and diagnostic services for high-voltage power equipment, covering power transformers, high-voltage circuit breakers, current transformers, voltage transformers, high voltage cables, arresters and GIS switchgear. Our available test items include transformer turns ratio, winding DC resistance, insulation resistance, dielectric loss & capacitance, power frequency / AC/DC withstand voltage, SFRA sweep frequency response analysis, OLTC on-load tap changer test, circuit breaker dynamic characteristic test, contact resistance test and partial discharge inspection. These field test services are widely applied in substation hand-over acceptance after new project construction, regular preventive maintenance of in-service power equipment, and fault location & diagnosis when equipment has abnormal alarm or hidden defects. Our professional technical team can go to the substation site to complete all tests on site.
Question 2: What pre-work should be prepared before on-site HV test?
Manufacturer: First of all, the tested power equipment must be completely de-energized, fully discharged for enough time and reliably connected to the ground wire, which is the most critical safety requirement. The customer needs to clean the test area, reserve enough safe working space, remove dust, oil stain and oxide on equipment terminals, and isolate the test zone with warning barriers and safety signs to prevent unrelated personnel from entering. Meanwhile, please prepare and provide equipment nameplate parameters, historical test reports, previous maintenance records, and on-site environment data including ambient temperature, relative humidity, and surrounding strong electromagnetic interference condition. Our engineers will rely on these materials to formulate a targeted, safe and standardized field test plan before we arrive at the site.
Question 3: Can your instruments work normally in strong electromagnetic interference substation environment?
Manufacturer: Yes. All our high voltage test instruments adopt mature EMC electromagnetic compatibility and anti-interference design. Many testers use variable frequency and frequency offset technology to separate the test signal from 50Hz power frequency interference generated by surrounding live equipment, effectively filtering interference noise. Even in substations with heavy electromagnetic disturbance, the instrument can keep stable sampling and accurate measurement. However, we still recommend operators keep sufficient safety distance from live high voltage equipment during testing, use shielded and low-noise test cables, properly ground the instrument host, and avoid long parallel layout of test wires and power cables. These operations can further reduce signal disturbance and guarantee repeatable and reliable test data.
Question 4: Will the high voltage field test damage the power equipment under normal operation?
Manufacturer: When the whole test is strictly implemented following IEC, IEEE and domestic power industry standards together with our official operation manual, the field high voltage withstand test belongs to non-destructive inspection. Its core purpose is to evaluate the insulation health status of power equipment, and qualified equipment can pass the test without any damage. If the tested equipment already has hidden insulation defects such as insulation aging, tiny crack or internal damp, the test can detect these potential risks. Our engineers will select the proper test voltage value and holding time strictly according to the equipment rated voltage, service age and operation condition. We will never carry out over-voltage test to protect the power equipment.
Question 5: Can you supply test reports after field test service?
Manufacturer: Definitely yes. Once all on-site measurement and data recording are finished, our technical engineers will organize and check all raw test data, waveform curves, screenshots and field records one by one. We will make a formal and complete test report, including basic equipment information, test environment parameters, test items, original measured data, historical data comparison, result analysis and professional evaluation & maintenance suggestions. The final report can be exported as PDF electronic file, and we also support on-site printing of paper copies. The report can be directly used for project handover acceptance, power department file archiving, and long-term tracking of equipment performance trend in future maintenance cycles.
Question 6: If we place an order, how do you typically ship the goods? Will there be any issues with transporting bulky items such as reactors?
Manufacturer: We default to using dedicated logistics lines or brand-specific express shipping services; small-sized main units and accessories may also be shipped via standard courier services. Large items, such as reactors and excitation transformers, are packed using wooden crates or wooden frames for reinforcement to prevent bumps and moisture exposure during transit; a packing list is included with each package to facilitate item-by-item counting for you. Logistics costs are typically determined by both parties in accordance with the contract terms; after shipment, we will send you both the tracking number and the carrier's contact phone number for easy tracking.If your project site is remote or if delivery to the site is required with a specified logistics company, please inform us in advance when placing your order; we can then coordinate and arrange accordingly.

Question 9: Our projects are distributed across several states, and our procurement volumes are substantial; are the shipping methods consistent across all states? How is the delivery time calculated?
Manufacturer: The specifications are identical; however, it should be specifically noted that this equipment set is large in size and heavy in weight—components such as the reactor and excitation transformer are all classified as heavy components. Therefore, regardless of which state or region the shipment is destined for, we will uniformly utilize sea freight transportation. The packaging employs export-grade wooden crates with reinforced structures, along with moisture-proof and rust-proof treatments; the design of these wooden crates is optimized for long-distance sea transport and multiple lifting and transshipment operations. Upon arrival at the destination, simply unpack the goods and conduct an inspection before putting them into use. Regarding delivery time, the sea freight transit period depends on the port of destination: near-sea routes are generally faster, whereas ocean routes may take longer; the exact number of days will be confirmed based on the shipping schedule specified in the bill of lading.
