Question 1: Cannot get stable test curve, curve graph shows obvious jitter and noise interference
Customer: We adopt this rack‑mount SFRA sweep frequency response analyzer for transformer winding test on substation site. The obtained frequency‑response curve has severe jitter and large noise interference, and we cannot get stable test data. What are the possible reasons?
Manufacturer: This problem frequently occurs in high‑voltage substation field test environments with strong electromagnetic interference. Please troubleshoot step by step: first, check whether Excitation, Reference and Response high‑frequency test cables are firmly screwed onto the rear‑panel BNC ports, confirm no loose connection; second, keep all test cables far away from live high‑voltage equipment and power cables, avoid crossing and parallel laying; third, inspect the alligator clamps, make sure they have tight, rust‑free contact on transformer bushing terminals. If the trouble still exists after these checks, please get in touch with our technical support, do not disassemble the aluminum alloy chassis by yourself.
Question 2: Bluetooth connection fails, cannot realize wireless data transmission between device and PC software
Customer: We want to use Bluetooth for wireless communication between SFRA analyzer and computer. But the computer cannot search the device Bluetooth signal, wireless connection cannot be established. How should we handle this fault?
Manufacturer: This issue often happens in complex field test sites or PC driver‑abnormal conditions. Please carry out step‑by‑step inspection: first, confirm the instrument main unit is powered on normally, check Bluetooth indicator status; second, verify PC Bluetooth function is turned on, close other surrounding interfering Bluetooth devices; third, you can switch to USB wired communication as an alternative temporary solution to finish the test task. If Bluetooth still cannot work normally, please contact our after‑sales team, do not open the device rear panel for private maintenance.
Question 3: Test curves cannot be saved and exported, cannot generate complete transformer test report
Customer: After we finish a set of transformer winding SFRA measurement, the test curves cannot be stored, and we fail to export formal test reports in matching PC software. What causes this malfunction?
Manufacturer: This failure usually relates to communication connection status and software operating authority. Please follow these steps for troubleshooting: first, double‑check USB or Bluetooth communication link between analyzer and computer, confirm there is no interruption during testing; second, confirm the PC software has obtained correct read‑write access permission on your computer; third, verify you have completed full‑range scanning test instead of terminating the test halfway. If the above operations cannot fix this problem, please send us your fault screenshot, do not modify the software configuration files arbitrarily.
Question 4: Abnormal test results, phase‑comparison curves show large deviation while transformer has no known damage record
Customer: When testing a running transformer without known winding fault, we get greatly deviated frequency‑response curves among three phases by this SFRA analyzer, we doubt whether the test result is valid. Where may the problem come from?
Manufacturer: This phenomenon is common caused by non‑standard field test operations rather than actual transformer winding damage. Question 5: Device rear‑panel signal ports no response, no signal output when starting sweep frequency test
Customer: When we start the sweep frequency test, the instrument runs but Excitation, Reference and Response ports have no signal output, the whole measurement cannot proceed. How to troubleshoot this issue?
