Three‑Phase Transformer Turns Ratio Tester, Automatic TTR Analyzer for Power Transformer Testing

Product Description

In the production process of semi-finished and finished power transformers, before the newly installed transformer is put into operation and according to the preventive test regulations of the Ministry of Electric Power, it is required to test the turns ratio or voltage ratio of the operating transformer, and the transformer turns ratio can be checked. The correctness, the condition of the tap changer, whether the transformer is short-circuited between turns, whether the transformer can be operated in parallel. The reading of the traditional ratio bridge is not intuitive, and the conversion can only be carried out phase by phase.

This transformation ratio tester overcomes the shortcomings of traditional transformation ratio bridge testing. It is easy and intuitive to operate. It adopts three-phase precision inverter power supply, which has fast testing and high accuracy.

Three‑Phase Transformer Turns Ratio Tester, Automatic TTR Analyzer for Power Transformer Testing

FAQ

Question 1: Measured turns ratio value deviates greatly from transformer nameplate data
Customer: We use this three‑phase transformer turns ratio tester for on‑site substation test. The measured turns ratio shows obvious deviation compared with parameters marked on transformer nameplate. What are the possible causes and how to solve it?
Manufacturer: Multiple on‑site factors will cause ratio deviation. First, confirm the transformer is fully de‑energized and discharged completely; residual induced voltage will interfere measuring accuracy. Second, check all test clips for tight and clean metal contact. Rust, paint or oxidation on bushing terminals will create extra contact resistance and bring wrong readings. Third, double‑check wiring strictly follow the connection diagram, wrong clip connection will lead to large deviation. Besides, tap‑changer position must correspond with nameplate tap position. Retest after finishing above inspections. If deviation still exists, provide transformer nameplate information and test screenshot, do not modify internal system parameters without technical support.
Question 2: Instrument cannot recognize transformer vector group automatically
Customer: When testing a three‑phase power transformer, the tester fails to identify vector group automatically and shows prompt of identification failure. The transformer has been powered‑off already. How should we troubleshoot?
Manufacturer: First verify that you have selected correct transformer connection mode setting on touch‑screen. Wrong mode setting will result in vector group identification failure. Second check whether all six high‑voltage and low‑voltage terminals are connected properly; missing any test clip will cause identification abort. Third, make sure tap‑changer is locked in stable gear, avoid intermediate transitional position of tap switch. After re‑connecting all test points, restart the measuring procedure. If the problem remains, you can select manual vector‑group input mode for temporary test, and contact our technical team for further support.
Question 3: Built‑in thermal printer does not print test report after completing measurement
Customer: Test result displays normally on screen after measurement, but nothing happens when clicking print function, printer outputs blank paper or no paper feeding action.
Manufacturer: Open printer compartment and check thermal paper installation direction; thermal side must face print head, reversed paper will output blank sheet. Check for paper scraps stuck inside printer slot and clean residual debris. Confirm you have saved valid complete test record before printing, unsaved temporary test data cannot trigger print task. Reboot instrument and try printing again. If printer still cannot work, please contact after‑sales support, do not disassemble printer module by yourself.
Question 4: Test keeps aborting, instrument prompts wiring error alarm during field measurement
Customer: During substation on‑site test, the tester pops‑up wiring error alarm and stops test immediately. We double‑checked physical connection and cannot find obvious wrong wiring.
Manufacturer: Even if transformer is power‑off, strong electromagnetic interference from surrounding live high‑voltage equipment may trigger false wiring alarm. First, keep all test cables far away from high‑voltage busbars and power cables, avoid parallel laying or crossing with high‑voltage lines. Second inspect test leads for crack or insulation damage; replace damaged cables. Third ensure all alligator clamps bite firmly on bare metal part, partial contact will trigger alarm. Power off instrument, re‑attach every clip tightly, keep cables away from interference source then restart test. If alarm persists, stop operation and send us on‑site condition for technical analysis.
Question 5: Data export via USB interface cannot work normally
Customer: Multiple groups of turns ratio test data have been saved inside instrument memory. When inserting USB flash drive to export records, the device cannot recognize USB storage and export fails.
Manufacturer: This instrument supports FAT32 format USB flash drive only. NTFS or exFAT format cannot be identified. Use USB flash disk below 32G capacity, high‑capacity large‑size U‑disk may cause compatibility issue. Confirm USB drive is fully inserted into instrument USB port. Complete saving test data before export operation, unfinished test records cannot be exported. Format your flash drive to FAT32 and try again. If export still fails, provide system setting screenshot to our technical support.
Question 5: Device rear‑panel signal ports no response, no signal output when starting sweep frequency test
Customer: When we start the sweep frequency test, the instrument runs but Excitation, Reference and Response ports have no signal output, the whole measurement cannot proceed. How to troubleshoot this issue?
Manufacturer: This fault may be caused by improper power supply or damage of rear‑panel BNC ports. Please inspect step‑by‑step: first, check AC power input socket, confirm power supply voltage is stable and power cord connection is reliable; second, visually inspect three BNC signal ports on rear panel, check for physical crack, deformation or foreign‑object blockage; third, restart the whole instrument and reload test software. If the ports still have no signal output, please stop using the equipment immediately, contact our after‑sales department, do not dismantle internal circuit components
Question 6: Shipping Method
Customer: If we place an order, how do you typically ship the goods? Will there be any issues with transporting bulky items such as reactors?
Manufacturer: We default to using dedicated logistics lines or brand-specific express shipping services; small-sized main units and accessories may also be shipped via standard courier services. Large items, such as reactors and excitation transformers, are packed using wooden crates or wooden frames for reinforcement to prevent bumps and moisture exposure during transit; a packing list is included with each package to facilitate item-by-item counting for you. Logistics costs are typically determined by both parties in accordance with the contract terms; after shipment, we will send you both the tracking number and the carrier's contact phone number for easy tracking. If your project site is remote or if delivery to the site is required with a specified logistics company, please inform us in advance when placing your order; we can then coordinate and arrange accordingly.
Question 7: Delivery Lead Time
Customer: Our project is under tight deadlines; how long will it take for the order to be shipped after we place it? Can we request expedited shipping?
Manufacturer: Standard specifications – stock available; typically delivered upon receipt of the order. Orders can be shipped within [X] working days; for non-standard products requiring customized voltage levels, capacities, or reactor combination configurations, the production cycle typically ranges from [X] to [Y] days. The delivery time will be approximately 7-15 working days; the specific timeline shall be subject to the sales confirmation provided upon order placement. If your project has a tight schedule, please inform us of the latest expected delivery date before placing your order; we will first verify the production schedule and inventory status, and where possible, will coordinate expedited production and prioritize shipment. However, it is recommended to allocate sufficient transit time for logistics to avoid delaying on-site testing.
Question 8: After-sales Service and Warranty
Customer: What is the warranty period for this equipment? If any issues arise during on-site use, how will your after-sales service respond?
Manufacturer: We provide a two-year free warranty on the entire unit and lifelong technical support services. During the warranty period, if issues arise due to defects in the equipment itself, we will provide free repair or replacement of components; when problems occur on-site, we commit to responding within 24 hours; most wiring and parameter configuration issues can be resolved through remote guidance via video or telephone; for cases where an on-site visit is necessary, we will arrange for our technicians to arrive at the location to resolve the issue. After the warranty period expires, we still offer repair services, with spare parts supplied at cost price for the long term, and software updates provided free of charge for life. Upon delivery of the equipment, we also offer free operational training (video operation guides)to ensure that your testing personnel can operate the equipment independently and proficiently; should you have any further questions, please feel free to contact our dedicated after-sales hotline directly.
Question 9: Shipping methods for each region (Sea freight)
Customer: Our projects are distributed across several states, and our procurement volumes are substantial; are the shipping methods consistent across all states? How is the delivery time calculated?
Manufacturer: The specifications are identical; however, it should be specifically noted that this equipment set is large in size and heavy in weight—components such as the reactor and excitation transformer are all classified as heavy components. Therefore, regardless of which state or region the shipment is destined for, we will uniformly utilize sea freight transportation. The packaging employs export-grade wooden crates with reinforced structures, along with moisture-proof and rust-proof treatments; the design of these wooden crates is optimized for long-distance sea transport and multiple lifting and transshipment operations. Upon arrival at the destination, simply unpack the goods and conduct an inspection before putting them into use. Regarding delivery time, the sea freight transit period depends on the port of destination: near-sea routes are generally faster, whereas ocean routes may take longer; the exact number of days will be confirmed based on the shipping schedule specified in the bill of lading. We have a dedicated freight forwarding agency to handle booking of shipping space, customs declaration, insurance, and other related procedures; once the vessel departs, we will send you documents such as the bill of lading and the packing list, enabling you to arrange for the receipt of goods at the port of destination and their inland transshipment in advance
